 迪兹（加里·库珀 Gary Cooper 饰）是一位小有成就的商人，早已经衣食无忧的他希望能够从繁忙的事务中脱身，将时间更多的花费在自己的兴趣爱好之上。一笔价值两千万的巨额遗产从天而降落到了迪兹的头上，报社问询派来了记者芭比（琪恩·亚瑟 Jean Arthur 饰），希望她能够从迪兹的身上挖掘出一些吸引眼球的新闻。刚开始，芭比十分看不惯迪兹的处世为人，但随着时间的推移，她渐渐被后者的善良和正直所吸引，两人之间产生了浪漫的爱情。迪兹决定将得到的遗产用于帮助深陷贫困的人，这一举动遭到了律师约翰（Douglass Dumbrille 饰）的质疑，他坚定的认为迪兹的脑袋可能出了什么问题，甚至将他告到了法庭。

　　Following her mother’s death, manga artist Soriya travels to her ancestral home in Phnom Penh, with hopes of reconnecting with her distant family and using the visit as inspiration for her work. All goes well initially. Renting an apartment in Metta, a rundown Khmer Rouge-era housing complex, her visit to her maternal relatives finds her welcomed with open arms. But Soriya’s waking hours in the apartment and its surroundings are punctuated by terrifying, bloody visions, almost as though she were a conduit for horrors of the past wanting to seep into the present.　　Inrasothythep Neth and Sokyou Chea’s blood-chilling psychological horror explores a personal and political past through the present, transforming a characterful space into an insidious environment. Surrounded by modern high-rises, this decrepit structure, with its brutalist architecture and peeling surfaces, is a relic from a dark period in history whose painful memories it has absorbed. In tracing Soriya’s ominous journey back to her roots, Tenement hints at a necessary reckoning with Cambodia’s political past without overplaying its historical dimension. It’s an impressive work from a woefully underrepresented national cinema.
