　　20世纪70年代，在日本中小学生中间流传着这样一个恐怖的传说：放学独自走到公园附近时，会遇到一个带着白色口罩、穿红色风衣的女人。遇到路过者，她会摘下口罩，露出裂到耳朵的恐怖大嘴，问对方“我漂亮吗？”如回答不漂亮，她会将对方毁容；若回答漂亮，她就将对方变得和自己一样；如果逃跑，她会以极快的速度追上。这个女人的名字就叫：裂口女。　　各学校一时间人心惶惶，男女学生们都怕碰到这个可怕的女人，而大人们却对这个谣言嗤之以鼻。但随着一场不详的地震发生，裂口女终于到来……

　　《探魔导师》将背景设定在一个由十大财团控制的架空历史下的摩登市。洪冰瑶饰演的是个性别模糊能穿梭时空的魔导师T，因被迫卷入组织权利斗争，成为组织的牺牲品。T协助警察破案来实现自己的人生价值。在调查“人类失踪案”的过程中，T发现人类失踪与畸形科技“潘多拉”有关，该科技利用人类原罪使人类互相欺诈谋杀，试图让整个摩登市陷入混乱，随着线索一步步逼近，T渐渐意识到社会的种种混乱由十大财团操纵，一切的根源似乎直指给人类带来巨大益处的人工智能，一场人类与人工智能的生存争夺战由此拉开。

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
