　　风韵犹存的妮妲是一个单身妈妈，数年前她和老公的感情破裂，长久以来只同儿子阿顿生活在一起。妮妲靠在夜市卖电影光盘为生，巨大的压力令她皈依一个名为“Who R U”的宗教社团。5年前，阿顿与母亲发生争执，随即将自己反锁房中，从此再未踏向外部世界。妮妲与阿顿德交流便是通过门缝下传递纸条来实现，凭借宗教赐予她的力量，妮妲似乎渐渐习惯这种不正常的生活。　　某电视台恐怖节目编辑阿东是妮妲的常客，他得知阿顿的事情，告知妮妲这是一种被称为“隐蔽青年”的自闭症状。阿东决定帮助阿顿走出房门，回到社会。他极其热心地操办此事，结果却令他追悔莫及。而在这一过程中，妮妲内心尘封已久的记忆也被渐渐唤醒……

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
