生于美国的法国导演Eug egrave;ne Green长片处女作，曾获2001年路易 德吕克大奖最佳处女作奖。影片灵感源自福楼拜的小说《情感教育》，讲述了两个来自法国乡下的青年的成长史。他们的青春期正值1968年前后的动荡年代，两人的命运与同一个女人奇妙地联系起来。Eug egrave;ne Green倚重静态构图与极简风格，大多以局部特写取代对场景的整体描绘。贯穿全片的往来信件旁白弥补著断裂的时间分章，同时也似凝固了片中人物的嬗变片断，令人虽喟叹时光流逝却无暇踯躅。
