The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
养鬼吃人5：直闯地狱
洛杉矶警探乔瑟夫（克莱格·谢菲尔 饰）是个标准败类，嗑药嗑得比谁都勤快，调查命案不忘顺手牵羊，更枉顾家中妻小，专搞迷人可爱的阻街女郎。一宗幼童谋杀案现场，乔瑟夫捡回一只受过诅咒的奇异盒子，打开后怪事不断一桩接一桩：昨夜搞上的妓女意外身亡，他瞬间成为头号嫌疑犯；一连串似幻似真的恐怖体验更不断尾随，无脸怪人四处追杀人群，《养鬼吃人》系列当家猛鬼－针头鬼（Pinhead）也重出江湖，一个头两个大的乔瑟夫该如何解决这谜一般的虚实梦魇？本片改编自克里夫巴克（Clive Barker）恐怖小说「受地狱羁绊之心」The Hellbound Heart，这颗坏心肠的主人正是故事男主角乔瑟夫，身为警察的他自身行为不检点也罢，涉嫌谋杀难以脱罪的他竟然嫁祸好同事，善恶终有报，恶徒乔瑟夫果然陷入万劫不复的魔鬼梦魇，活著比死更痛苦。
阿特拉斯耸耸肩
泰勒·席林,保罗·约翰逊,格兰特·鲍尔,贾苏·加西亚,马修·马斯登,Rebecca Wisocky在一个家族传承的塔格特铁路公司，现任总裁为家族长子詹姆斯·塔格特，副总裁是达格妮·塔格特，兄妹俩为挽救公司岌岌可危的营运，想法与方法可说是南辕北辙，一位只是口头囔囔一些没有经过详细评估的墨西哥——圣赛巴斯蒂安支线的投资，却没有提出一丝一毫的规划与执行方案，常常以见不得别人成功的酸葡萄心态看待事情与诋毁他人；另一位是以“我是像一个饿疯了一样，去找任何一个能把事情做好的人！”为挽救塔格特铁路公司，与爱迪·威勒斯孜孜矻矻、焚膏继晷的努力工作，为顺利完成里约诺特的铁路支线，找上里尔登钢铁的汉克·里尔登合作，采用里尔登刚发明的新合金当铁轨，没想到成功营造出里约诺特的铁路支线，却是另一个不幸的开端。 幕后制作 《阿特拉斯耸耸肩》是上世纪美国著名哲学家、小说家安·兰德的代表巨著，这位俄裔美籍小说家推崇理性，认为人的最高美德便是理性。她不顾传统舆论的偏见，力倡个人主义，认为不能使个人利益得到最大伸张的社会，就不是理想社会。她的客观主义哲学自上世纪50年代起便风靡美国校园，影响了几代美国人，她本人也成为美国青年崇拜的偶像。 《阿特拉斯耸耸肩》是她最著名的一本小说，曾在美国社会产生巨大影响。书中宣扬金钱至上的思想，探讨了理性利己主义的道德性。1957年刚刚出版曾遭遇社会恶评，但却异常畅销，在美国的销售量仅次于《圣经》，并影响了当时社会的很多知识分子，甚至成为美国学生必读的课外书籍。
妖星哥拉斯
池部良,白川由美,久保明,水野久美,平田昭彦不明妖星哥拉斯在茫茫宇宙中不断前进，沿途吸附大量的星际飞行物，不断的变庞大，日本的观测宇宙船隼号，为了探明其质量大小，不幸被一起吸附，但是其在最后关头向地球发出了其质量数据，使地球上的人对其有了个初步认识，后经科学家计算测定，其质量为地球的６１００倍，而且将在４５天后与地球相撞。 为阻止地球与哥拉斯的相撞，科学家想出了一个大胆的办法，就是运用水素离子装置在南极造一个喷射基地（类似与火箭发射器），让地球动起来，在哥拉斯到来之前，使地球移动到其他轨道．等哥拉斯安全通过后，然后在北极在建个基地，使地球在回到原来的预定轨道。 计划实施的非常顺利，全世界各国在国联的带领下在南极建立了基地，但是由于在南极建造基地，在火焰发生器的作用下让长眠在南极的海象怪兽苏醒了，并破坏了一部份基地，后来，在飞机导弹的攻击下，怪兽死了，但由于怪兽的破坏，火箭发生器推迟了时间，到底地球能不能脱离哥拉斯的吞噬呢？
